Dutch Oven (#19)
Hello again. Sorry for the lag between podcasts, but sometimes you have to let things cook slowly in a cast iron oven over an open fire. Totally worth it. LOTS of great music out recently that i've "cobbled" together here (ha!). Starts off with a sad but amazing track from the new The National album followed by yet another Bat For Lashes track that i have listened to about 2000 times. Love it. I'm a bit surprised i put an Arcade Fire track on her, but "Ready To Start" has really grown on me and I actually bought the new album. LCD Soundsystem continues to blow me away and this is one of the very few remixes of their stuff i like. A little late to the party on Thieves Like Us, in fact, the song i put on here is a couple of years old, but whatever (they appear twice if you count the Drums remix). I'm still not sure about the new Underworld album, but Bird 1 is sooo good. Finishing off with Chemical Brothers which was tough because i was out of town for their Hollywood Bowl show. grrrr. I would give a photo credit to my friend Sinuhe except he went to slept through my first attempt at using a dutch oven on our camping trip. who does that. enjoy the music!

Although this podcast hasn't been seen on TV, i definitely consider it an Infomercial. Lets just hope it doesn't suck like a Flowbee (can you believe they are still selling this thing?). Quite a few of these tracks were songs i've had for a bit but just recently discovered including Two Door Cinema Club, Delphic and the Metronomy tracks. I'm curious to see how the next metronomy album turns out since this one had a couple of great tracks and the rest, eh. Thanks to DJ Talbot for turning me on to the Pixies remix and Snelson for the Phantogram song. Thom Yorke can pretty much do no wrong and this track from the New Moon soundtrack is no exception. I'm digging the stefan remix of Pop Music celebrating its 30 year anniversary. Cut Copy sneaks in again remixing Munk, but i didn't include a Phoenix song this time so at least i showed some restraint. Enjoy!
Flowbee Tracklisting
Two Door Cinema Club - Do you Want It All
Phantogram - Mouthful Of Diamonds

Meniscus (#17)
Meniscus is one of my favorite words. It has many definitions, but i always think of it in terms of surface tension that allows a liquid to rise above the level of the container its in. Part of the reason i like it is that you don't get to use it very often, but its fun when you do (Fortnight would be another). This podcast could be considered a musical meniscus since there is so much more good music stuffed in one podcast then seem possible . Or not. Haven't been a Moby fan for a long time, but like his new album. mellow and good. Really excited about The xx. get the album now. Yes the passion pit track is sugary, but its fun so screw you. check out their other stuff for less pop. The Horrors track is sooo great. goes on forever and than takes an unexpected twist. def my cup of tea. Miike Snow is one of my favorite albums right now and i hope this isn't just a one-off project. Grace Jones is 50 62(!) and still bringing it with a nice assist from Aeroplane. If i could put an erlend oye track on every podcast i'd be happy (i almost have). And remixed by The Twelves? hell yeah! Lastly a new Underworld collaboration, this time with Mark Knight. In other news, my podcast now has almost 1,200 subscribers. crazy.
Meniscus Tracklisting:
Moby - Mistake
The xx - Heart Skipped A Beat
The Golden Filter - Favourite Things
Passion Pit - Little Secrets
Miike Snow - Sylvia
Fever Ray - Seven (CSS Remix)
The Horrors - Sea Within a Sea
Grace Jones - Williams' Blood (Aeroplance Remix)
Erlend Oye - Sudden Rush (The Twelves)
Yacht - Psychic City (Rory Phillips Remix)
Metric - Sick Muse (Adam Freeland Remix)
Underworld/Mark Knight - Downpipe (original club mix)
