Bradley B Podcast #16: Staycation

Staying in town this summer? no fancy vacation? Well quit your fretting. This month’s podcast is here to save your Staycation. Quite a few of this months tracks are inspired from Coachella ‘09 including Silversun Pickups (get Swoon now!), Beirut and even an OLD SCHOOL remix of Public Enemy. Yes, another track from Phoenix, but its soo good. I tried to find a remix of Lisztomania, but i have yet to find any better than the original. Not crazy about the new Depeche Mode, but In Sympathy is pretty damn good. The new Juan MacLean is fun, especially if you liked Human League. Also really digging Nero’s dubby remix of The Streets. Anyway, happy summer and enjoy.

Totally Lost randomness. I can’t wait for the new Phoenix album, especially after loving their first single 1901. Laughing light of plenty is a great new find and i’m hoping to hear more from them. I can’t get enough of The Twelves, just about every one of their remixes is a good time and their Radiohead mix is amazing.

I’ve decided to go back to enhanced podcasts which means no streaming, but it means i can put artwork, tracklisting and chapters into the podcast. Let me know if you prefer the enhanced version. Be sure to follow me on twitter if you want to be notified about new podcasts, music and mostly useless info about me.

I’m not sure if everyone will love the We Have Band track, but i sure do. Ends with a great M83 track. If you don’t have that album yet, you should. I hope to get another podcast out before January, but we’ll see. Enjoy!

In response to the current energy crisis, i thought i’d start off my latest podcast with a couple of old tracks, when gas was affordable. Supermax is eurodisco funk from the 80s. so great. I also discovered a Phoenix remix from two years ago that i’d never heard before. Thanks to Dale for turning me on to Windsurf. Such a great track and i look forward to hearing more music from them. Sarah convinced me to check out the Midnight Juggernauts album and now i’m bummed i missed them at Coachella. Minitel Rose add a little french electro towards the end. This podcast also includes another LikeLike remix, definitely one of my new fav remixers. Filler Up!

Self-Inflating Whoopie - Podcast #11
Who doesn’t love a Whoopie cushion? No one that’s who. What if i told you you would never have to re-inflate a whoopie cushion again? Its true.
Tracklist tidbits:

Santogold is one of my favorite records of the year. A great mix of pop, new wave, hip hop… go buy it. The chairlift song is kinda weird, but i like it. MGMT did a remix of the song, but i prefer the original. I’m a huge cut copy fan, but the new album is a little underwhelming (as is their live show). I’m hoping for some great remixes. Nobody Lost is a great new song though. MGMT’s album, on the other hand, is amazing from start to finish. I missed Black Kids at Coachella, but won’t make that mistake again. For some reason, Alex Gopher keeps popping up in my podcasts. I guess i’m a fan without really knowing it. The Killers track is a Joy Division cover and i think its pretty amazing (others might say sacrilidge!). The finish is a pretty epic Jori Hulkkonen remix of The Presets “This Boy In Love” off their new album.

TRACKLISTING:

Santogold - Shove It (featuring Spank Rock)

Thom Yorke - Eraser (XXXchange mix)

Chairlift - Evident Utensil

Booka Shade - Numbers (extended vocal mix)

The Helio Sequence - Keep Your Eyes Ahead

Cut Copy - Nobody Lost, Nobody Found

MGMT - Kids

Black Kids - I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You (The Twelves Remix)

Does It Offend You, Yeah? - Epic Last Song (LIFELIKE remix)

Alex Gopher - Aurora (Riot in Belgium & Knightlife remix)

The Killers - Shadowplay

The Presets - This Boy In Love (Jori Hulkkonen remix)
